The cytotoxic properties of ionizing radiation are used for decades in radiotherapy in order to destroy tumors. Radiosensitization aims at increasing its efficiency through the introduction in the tumors of chemicals and nanoparticles that locally increase the dose by concerting X-ray into Auger electrons.
