The award recognizes his work on the synthesis of new semiconductor nanocrystals without toxic metals (copper-indium-sulphur) intended inter alia to absorb solar photons and conduct electrons in solar cells. For several years, the laboratory has been studying hybrid materials (organic-inorganic mixtures) for photovoltaic conversion by thin-film devices, which are flexible and easy to implement.
A €15000 scholarship was awarded to A. Lefrançois October 8, 2012, at the Palais de la Découverte. The next day, she was leaving for a month in a Hong Kong laboratory to pursue a collaboration with her laboratory.
